How to use About Your Shop
3 min read · Published August 11, 2026
The About section is where buyers check who they're buying from. This tool takes your story, what you make, and how you make it, and turns it into something people actually finish reading.
What you'll fill in
These are the fields the tool asks for, exactly as they appear in the app. Required fields are marked; the rest you can leave blank and CopySprout fills the gaps.
- Your story (2-3 sentences)Required
Why or when you made it — one sentence is enough.
Example: How you started, what drives you
- What you makeRequired
What your shop creates — one line is fine.
Example: hand-thrown stoneware mugs
- How you make itRequired
How you make it — buyers love the handmade detail.
Example: wheel-thrown, fired twice at 2200F
- Why handmade matters to youRequired
Why handmade matters to you — builds trust.
Example: every piece is one of a kind
How to use it
- Open the app and pick About Your Shop from the Shop group.
- Write your story in the first box, two or three sentences. How you started is enough, you don't need a memoir.
- Add what you make in one line, like "hand-thrown stoneware mugs".
- Describe your process in the third box. This is the part buyers care about most: the handmade detail.
- Add one line on why handmade matters to you, then run it.
- Copy the result into your shop's About section and add a couple of photos of your workspace.
What you get
A complete About section: who you are, what you make, how you make it, and why it matters. One screen, easy to read, in your voice.
Tips
- Your About section is a top place buyers check for trust. A finished one reads as a real shop with a real person behind it.
- Pair it with photos of your process. A picture of your hands at work is worth a paragraph of claims.
