How to use Review Response
3 min read · Published August 11, 2026
Review Response drafts your reply to a buyer's review. Replies are public, so the tone matters as much as the words. Use it for the easy 5 star replies, and definitely for the rough ones, where a calm draft beats an emotional first try.
What you'll fill in
These are the fields the tool asks for, exactly as they appear in the app. Required fields are marked; the rest you can leave blank and CopySprout fills the gaps.
- Star rating (1-5)Required
The rating the buyer gave — changes the reply tone.
Example: Select stars
Options: 1 star · 2 stars · 3 stars · 4 stars · 5 stars
- Paste the review textRequired
Paste the review exactly as the buyer wrote it.
Example: Paste the review exactly as the buyer wrote it
- ProductRequired
The specific item as shoppers see it — be exact.
Example: Hand-thrown ceramic mug
How to use it
- Open the app and pick Review Response from the Customers group.
- Choose the star rating the buyer gave. This sets the tone: warm for good reviews, careful for bad ones.
- Paste the review text exactly as the buyer wrote it.
- Add the product so the reply can mention it naturally.
- Run it, read it out loud, tweak if you want, and paste it into the reply box on Etsy.
What you get
A reply that fits the rating: specific and warm for good reviews, calm and constructive for bad ones. Short enough to post as-is.
Tips
- Replies are public. Keep them kind even for bad reviews, and say what you're doing to fix it. That reply is for the buyers watching, not just the one who wrote it.
- Personalize the first line if you can. A reply that names the product or the review's detail reads like a person, not a form.
