How to use Order Thank-You Note
3 min read · Published August 11, 2026
The note in the box is the last thing a buyer touches before they rate you. This tool writes it in about two minutes, and two minutes buys a lot of goodwill.
What you'll fill in
These are the fields the tool asks for, exactly as they appear in the app. Required fields are marked; the rest you can leave blank and CopySprout fills the gaps.
- ProductRequired
The specific item as shoppers see it — be exact.
Example: Hand-thrown ceramic mug
- Customer first nameOptional
First name to personalize — optional.
Example: Sarah
- Personal touchOptional
A personal detail — optional but makes it warm.
Example: they bought it for a wedding
How to use it
- Open the app and pick Order Thank-You Note from the Customers group.
- Add the product they ordered. If you know the customer's first name, add it, it makes the note personal.
- The personal touch box is optional but powerful: "they bought it for a wedding" turns a nice note into a memorable one.
- Run it. You get a short, warm note that fits on a card.
- Print it or copy it into your packing routine.
What you get
A two or three sentence thank-you note, personalized if you want, that reads like you wrote it for this buyer specifically.
Tips
- Never ask for a review in a thank-you note. Etsy handles review requests on its own, and asking in the box feels pushy.
- Keep one saved version for orders without a name, and run the tool again when you have a personal detail to add.
